  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread half of the beef mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef.
  7. Top with half of the shredded cheese.
  8. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, soup mixture, and cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
